Unilever Tea Company Limited top management today paid a courtesy call visit to the Speaker's office shortly after noon. The team comprised of the incoming MD - Sylvia Ten Den, the outgoing MD - Nicholas Yiannakis and Corporate Director - Joseph Mitei. They held a brief meeting with the Speaker Hon. Dominic Rono and the Majority Leader Hon. Hezron Ngetich before holding a consultative forum with the MCAs. Concerns were raised about mechanization of tea plucking and the MCAs urged the company to engage the youth more and increase support towards the local community through CSR programs. On their part, the Company promised to schedule more consultative forums with the county leadership in order to address thorny issues and promote a mutually beneficial relationship between Unilever Tea Company and Kericho county residents.
